This course teaches students how to understand literary fiction which aspires to illuminate some aspect of human life. The focus is on applying analytical skills to recognize, discuss and write about literary symbols, themes and patterns.
Presented in two high school semesters to provide similar information to that offered in a one semester college course. Students are introduced to the three basic areas of Philosophy: Ethics, Metaphysics, and Epistemology.
Acting
Intermediate and advanced high school and young adult acting students. Classes include work in improvisation, technique and scene study.
Classes in philosophy, literature, creative writing, drama and acting -- each of its own specialty, yet based on a few words once spoken by Picasso -- “Art is a lie which leads to the truth.”
